Educational Qualification for Contractual Teachers Recruitment
Educational Qualification for the Post of TGTs Teachers
The candidates should have
a) 04 years Integrated Degree course in the concerned subject from any Institution recognized by NCTE with at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/ PH/SEBC candidates)
OR
Bachelor’s Degree in Arts & Science in the concerned subject with 50% in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/PH/SEBC candidates) along with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education/3 years integrated B.A. B.Ed. (a course prescribed by the NCTE) from an Institution recognized by the NCTE and affiliated with a recognized University.
b) Proficient in teaching both in Odia & English medium.
c) Knowledge of computer applications (desirable).
The subject and Languages in the combination of subjects should be as:
a) TGT (English) – English as an Honours/Pass /Elective/Major/Special Subject at Graduation Level.
b) TGT (Odia) – Odia as an Honours/Pass/Elective/Major/Special Subject at Graduation Level.
c) TGT (Hindi) – a) Bachelor’s degree in Arts with Hindi as an Honours subject.
AND
Hindi Teacher Training certificate course (BH. Ed.) conducted by the Hindi Teachers’ Training Institute, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, and Sambalpur, Hindi Sikhyan Parangata from Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra, and B.Ed. in Hindi (a course prescribed by NCTE from Dakhin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha, Madras, an institution recognized by NCTE and affiliated with a recognized university) will be considered a training qualification.
OR
b) BA with Honours in any subject with Hindi as a subject for all three years.
AND
Hindi Teacher Training certificate course (BH. Ed.) conducted by the Hindi Teachers’ Training Institute, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, and Sambalpur, Hindi Sikhyan Parangata from Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra, and B.Ed. in Hindi (a course prescribed by NCTE from Dakhin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha, Madras, an institution recognized by NCTE and affiliated with a recognized university) will be considered a training qualification.
OR
c) BA with Honours in any subject with Rastra Bhasa Ratna from Rastra Bhasa Prachara Samiti, Wardha.
AND
Hindi Teacher Training certificate course (BH. Ed.) conducted by the Hindi Teachers’ Training Institute, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, and Sambalpur, Hindi Sikhyan Parangata from Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra, and B.Ed. in Hindi (a course prescribed by NCTE from Dakhin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha, Madras, an institution recognized by NCTE and affiliated with a recognized university) will be considered a training qualification.
OR
d) BA with Honours in any subject with Sastri from Odisha Rastra Bhasa Parisada, Puri.
AND
Hindi Teacher Training certificate course (BH. Ed.) conducted by the Hindi Teachers’ Training Institute, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, and Sambalpur, Hindi Sikhyan Parangata from Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra, and B.Ed. in Hindi (a course prescribed by NCTE from Dakhin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha, Madras, an institution recognized by NCTE and affiliated with a recognized university) will be considered a training qualification.
OR
e) BA with Honours in any subject with Snataka (Acquired by June 2005, the date up to which temporary recognition has been granted) from Hindi Sikhya Samiti Odisha, Cuttack.
AND
Hindi Teacher Training certificate course (BH. Ed.) conducted by the Hindi Teachers’ Training Institute, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, and Sambalpur, Hindi Sikhyan Parangata from Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra, and B.Ed. in Hindi (a course prescribed by NCTE from Dakhin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha, Madras, an institution recognized by NCTE and affiliated with a recognized university) will be considered a training qualification.
OR
f) BA with Honours in any subject with an equivalent degree in Hindi from a recognized institution/University.
AND
Hindi Teacher Training certificate course (BH. Ed.) conducted by the Hindi Teachers’ Training Institute, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, and Sambalpur, Hindi Sikhyan Parangata from Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra, and B.Ed. in Hindi (a course prescribed by NCTE from Dakhin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha, Madras, an institution recognized by NCTE and affiliated with a recognized university) will be considered a training qualification.
d) TGT (Sanskrit) – Bachelors’ Degree in Arts with Sanskrit as Honors Subject OR Shastri (Sanskrit) with 50% in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/PH/SEBC candidates) a course prescribed by NCTE from a recognized University.
AND
Sikshya Shastri (Sanskrit), a course prescribed by NCTE from a recognized university/institution recognized by NCTE and affiliated with a recognized university will be considered as a training qualification.
Note – The B.Ed. qualification which is applicable for other TGTs is not applicable for TGT (Sanskrit).
e) TGT (Mathematics) – Bachelor’s Degree in Science with at least 200 marks in Math as a subject with any two of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Computer Application, Statistics, and Electronics.
AND
B.Tech/B.E Degree with 200 marks in Math and any two of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Computer Application, Statistics, and Electronics.
f) TGT (Science) – Bachelor’s Degree in Science having any three subjects out of the following i:e Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Bio-Technology and Life-Science.
g) TGT (Social Science) – B.A in any 01 of the following 04 subjects: History, Geography, Political Science & Economics. In addition, he/she should have 01 more subjects out of the following 08 subjects without repetition of the same subjects as above: History, Political Science, Geography, Economics, Indian Polity, Indian Economy, Indian Geography, Landmarks in Indian History as Honours/Pass/Elective.
Educational Qualification for the Post of PGTs Teachers
The candidates should have
a) 02 years of Integrated post-graduate courses with at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/PH/SEB candidates) in the concerned subject.
OR
Master’s degree from a recognized University with at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/SEBC/PH candidates) in the concerned subject.
b) Bachelor’s degree in education (a course prescribed by NCTE) from an institution recognized by NCTE and affiliated with a recognized university.
c) Proficiency in teaching both in Odia & English medium.
d) Knowledge of computer applications (desirable).
The subject and Languages in the combination of subjects should be as:
a) PGT (English) – English
b) PGT (Math) – Mathematics/Applied Mathematics
c) PGT (Physics)– Physics/Electronics/Applied Physics/Nuclear Physics
d) PGT (Chemistry) – Chemistry/Bio. Chemistry
e) PGT (Biology) – Botany/Zoology/Life Sciences/Bio Science/Genetics/Micro Biology/Molecular Bio/Plant Physiology provided you have studied Botany and Zoology at Graduation Level.
f) PGT (Economics) – Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics
g) PGT (Commerce) – Commerce (However, the holder of a degree in M.Com in Applied/Business Economics will not be eligible).
h) PGT (Computer Science) – At least 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/PH/SEBC candidates) in any of the following:
i) B.E. or B.Tech (Computer Science /IT) from a recognized University.
OR
B.E. or B.Tech (any stream) and Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science from recognized University.
OR
M.Sc (Computer Science/ Information Technology) /MCA from a recognized University.
OR
“B” Level from DOEACC / NIELIT and Post Graduate degree in any subject from a recognized University.
OR
“C” Level from DOEACC/ NIELIT and Graduation from a recognized University.
ii) Proficiency in teaching in Odia and English medium.
Salary for Contractual Teachers Recruitment
The candidates selected as contractual TGT teachers will get a monthly remuneration of Rs 20,000 for Normal Station (Rs. 25,000 for Hard/Very Hard Station) whereas contractual PGT teachers will get a monthly remuneration of Rs 25,000 for Normal Station (Rs. 30,000 for Hard/Very Hard Station).
Age Limit for Contractual Teachers Recruitment
The minimum age of the candidates should be 21 years and the maximum age should be 65 years as of the date of advertisement.
Fees for Contractual Teachers Recruitment
The examination fees for different categories are as follows:
- UR – No Fees
- SEBC – No Fees
- SC – No Fees
- ST – No Fees
Selection Process
The selection will be done based on the computation of career marks.
The computation of marks will be done as 10% of the Percentage of marks secured in HSC (without extra optional), Bachelor’s Degree and B.Ed. for TGTs and HSC (without extra optional), Bachelor Degree, Master’s Degree and B. Ed. for PGTs.
Extra 5 marks will be added in the computation of marks for the candidates having M. Phil or Ph.D degree and 10 marks for the candidates having both degrees.

- Self-attested photocopy of the educational certificate and mark sheet.
- Self-attested photocopy of the B.Ed. certificate and mark sheet.
- Self-attested photocopy of the CTET certificate.
- Self-attested photocopy of the OSSTET certificate.
- Self-attested photocopy of ID proof.
- 02 recent color passport-size photograph self-attested 01 has to be affixed to the application form.
