Educational Qualification for Odisha High Court Recruitment
Interested candidates must have
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or equivalent qualification.
- Passed PGDCA course.
- Typewriting skill with a minimum speed of 40 words per minute on the computer.
Age
The candidates must be above 21 years of age and below 32 years of age as of 29/08/2024, i.e. he/she must not have been born earlier than 30/08/1992 and not later than 28/08/2003.
The Upper age is relaxable by
- 05 years for candidates belonging to the SC, ST, SEBC & Women category.
- 10 years for PwDs whose permanent disability is not less than 40% and not more than 50%.
- 15 years cumulative age relaxation to the candidates with disabilities belonging to SC/ST/SEBC categories (10 years under the PwD category + 05 years under the SC/ST/SEBC category).
- Age relaxation for Ex-Servicemen candidates will be made by the provision made under relevant Acts, Rules, Orders, or instructions issued on that behalf by the State Government.
Salary
Selected candidates will be engaged in the pay scale of Rs. 19,900 – Rs. 63,200 in level 4 of the Pay Matrix under ORSP Rules, 2017 with usual Dearness and other Allowances as may be sanctioned by the Government of Odisha from time to time.
Examination Fee
The candidates have to pay the examination fee according to the following category which will be non-refundable and non-adjustable.

- ST – No Fee
- PwD – No Fee

Syllabus for Odisha High Court Recruitment
The syllabus for the Data Entry Operator (DEO)/Junior Grade Typist (JGT) examination will consist of the Preliminary Examination, Language Test, Computer Application Test, Main Written Examination (Typewriting Test in English), and Viva-Voce as detailed below.
Preliminary Examination (Qualifying) – 150 marks
Those candidates who will secure not less than 33% of marks in the SC/ST category and not less than 40% in the rest of the categories in the Preliminary Examination will be called to appear in the Language Test.
Language Test (Qualifying) – 100 marks
Those candidates who will secure at least 33% of marks in the SC/ST category and at least 45% in the rest of the categories in the Language Test will be called to appear in the Computer Application Test.
Computer Application Test (Qualifying) – 100 marks
The marks will be divided into 50 marks for theory and 50 marks for skill tests.
Those candidates who will secure 50% or more marks in the Computer Application Test will be called to appear in the Main Written Examination.
Main Written Examination (Typewriting Test in English) – IOO Marks
The candidates have to type the content from a printed matter of 400 words approx. at a speed of 40 words/minute in 10 minutes.
Viva-Voce – 20 marks
The total marks secured by the candidates will be calculated by adding marks secured in the Viva-Voce Test and marks obtained in the Main Written Examination (Typewriting Test in English).

Other Eligibility Requirements
- Must be an Indian citizen.
- He/She should be of good character & in sound health and must be free from any organic defect and physical deformities.
- Not having more than one spouse living if married.
- Not have any past criminal antecedent and/or record.
- Not have been convicted by any Criminal Court for an offense involving moral turpitude.
- Not have been debarred by any Government, Court, Public Service Commission, or any other Commission from appearing in any Recruitment Test.
- Candidates who claim a change in his/her name/surname after having passed the High School Certificate Examination or equivalent examination must furnish a copy of notification in the Odisha Gazette in support of his/her change of name/surname.
- The SEBC Certificate that is over 03 years old by the closing date of submission of the online application form will not be considered.
- The certificate of good character that is more than 03 months old by the closing date of submission of the online application form will not be considered.
