- A citizen of India.
- The candidates should be of good character.
- He/She should be of sound health, have a good physique, and be free from organic defects or bodily infirmity.
- If married, He/She must not have more than one spouse living.
- He/She must be able to read, write, and speak Odia fluently and
- Must have passed the Middle School Examination with Odia as a language subject OR
- Must have passed HSC Examination or equivalent examination with Odia as Medium of examination in non-language subject OR
- Must have passed in Odia as a language subject in the final examination of Class-VII or above from a school or educational institution recognized by the Govt. of Odisha or the Central Govt. OR
- Must have passed a test in Odia in Middle English School standard conducted by the School and Mass Education Department, Govt. of Odisha.
Age for OSSC CGL Recruitment 2024 for Specialist Posts/Services
The minimum age of the candidates should be 21 years and the maximum age should be 38 years as of 01/01/2024 (must not have been born earlier than 02/01/1986 and not later than 01/01/2003).
The category-wise upper-age relaxation will be
- 05 years for the candidates belonging to the SC/ST/SEBC/Women category.
- 10 years in case of Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and the total period of service rendered in defense service in case of Ex-Servicemen.

Pre-Requisites for Registration/Re-registration and Online Application
- A scanned copy of the full Specimen Signature & Left/Right Thumb Impression in “jpg/jpeg” format ranges up to 20 Kbs.
- Scanned copies of certificates and mark sheets in the “Pdf” format between the ranges of 100 Kbs to 500 Kbs.
- A scanned copy of a recent passport-size colored photograph in the “jpg/jpeg” format between the ranges of 20 Kbs to 100 Kbs.
- Valid personal Email ID and Mobile Number.
- SC/ST/SEBC category candidates need to submit detailed information about the valid online Caste Certificate issued by the competent Authority in the online application form.
- Candidates claiming age relaxation under the “Ex-Servicemen” category need to upload any one of the Ex-Servicemen Documents i.e. Discharge Certificate/Identity card/PPO. The scanned document must be in “Pdf” format between ranges of 100 Kbs to 500 Kbs.
- Candidates claiming reservation/age relaxation under the “PwD (Persons with Disabilities)” category need to upload a valid online PwD certificate issued by Unique Disability Identification (UDID). The scanned document must be in “pdf” format between ranges of 100 Kbs to 500 Kbs.

- Photocopy of permanent disability certificate issued by UDID (by Appropriate Medical Authority) in case of PwD candidates.
- Discharge certificate, identity card, and a document indicating the period of service rendered in defense forces and Undertaking form regarding avail/non-avail of ESM benefit in case of Ex-Servicemen candidates.
- Sports Identity Card issued by Director of Sports & Youth Service Department, Govt. of Odisha in case of sports person candidates.
- NOC in case of candidates working in Government Services/PSUs of the state Govt., Central Govt./Universities/Autonomous Institutions etc.
- An ID Proof such as a Voter’s Identity Card/Driving License/Aadhar Card etc. issued by the Government Authority.
