Educational Qualification for OSSSC Teacher Recruitment 2024
The educational qualifications for the Teacher position as per different categories are as follows:
1. Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) – Arts
The candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Commerce or a Shastri (Sanskrit) degree with two school subjects from a recognized University with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/SEBC/PwD/Sportsperson/Ex-Servicemen Candidates) along with a B.Ed/03 years integrated B.Ed. – M.Ed. from an institution recognized by NCTE.
OR
04 years integrated B.A. B.Ed from an NCTE-recognized institution with two school subjects (English, Odia, Sanskrit, Hindi, History, Geography, Economics, Political Science, Landmarks in Indian History, Indian Economy, Indian Geography, Indian Polity offered as Pass/Hons/Elective/Optional/Compulsory Subjects) with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/SEBC/PwD/Sportsperson/Ex-Servicemen Candidates).

2. Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) – Science (PCM/CBZ)
The candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Science/B.Tech./B.E. with two school subjects (For PCM Candidates – Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, For CBZ Candidates – Chemistry, Biotechnology, Botany, and Zoology offered as Pass/Hons/Elective/Optional/Compulsory Subjects) from a recognized University with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/SEBC/PwD/Sportsperson/Ex-Servicemen Candidates) along with a B.Ed/03 years integrated B.Ed. – M.Ed. from an institution recognized by NCTE.

AND
The candidates should have one of the following training qualifications:
- Hindi Shikshan Parangat from Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra.
- B.H.Ed. (a course prescribed by NCTE) from a recognized institution/university.
- B.Ed. in Hindi (a course prescribed by NCTE) from Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha, Madras.
OR
The candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/SEBC/PwD/Sportsperson/Ex-Servicemen Candidates) with one of the following qualifications:
- Rashtrabhasa Ratna from Rastrabhasa Prachara Samiti, Wardha.
- Shastri (Hindi) from Odisha Rastrabhasa Parisad, Puri.
- Snataka (Acquired by June 2005, the date up to which the temporary recognition has been granted) from Hindi Shiksha Samiti, Odisha, Cuttack.
AND
The candidates should have one of the following training qualifications:
- Hindi Shikshan Parangat from Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra.
- B.H.Ed. (a course prescribed by NCTE) from a recognized institution/university.

4. Sanskrit Teacher

Shastri (Sanskrit) with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/SEBC/PwD/Sportsperson/Ex-Servicemen Candidates) with Shiksha Shastri (Sanskrit) a course prescribed by NCTE from a recognized University.

5. Physical Education Teacher (PET)
The candidates should have passed +2 or equivalent from a recognized University with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/SEBC/PwD/Sportsperson/Ex-Servicemen Candidates) and C.P.Ed./B.P.Ed./M.P. Ed. from a recognized Board/University.

Salary for OSSSC Teacher Recruitment 2024
The selected candidates as teachers will be paid as follows:
- Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT), Hindi Teacher, Sanskrit Teacher – Pay Scale Rs 35,400 – Rs 1,12,400, Pay Matrix level-09, Cel-01.
- PET, Tribal Language Teacher, Sevak/Sevika – Pay Scale Rs 23,600 – Rs 74,800, Pay Matrix level-06, Cel-01.
Age for OSSSC Teacher Recruitment 2024
The minimum age of the candidates should be 21 years and the maximum age should be 38 years as of 01/01/2024. The Date of birth as recorded in the HSC certificate issued by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, or equivalent certificate issued by any recognized Board/Council/Indian University will only be accepted.
The category-wise upper-age relaxation will be
- 05 years for the candidates belonging to the SC/ST/SEBC/Women category.
- 10 years in case of Persons with Disabilities (PwD).

Selection Process
The selection will be done based on performance in the different recruitment stages which are as follows:
- Paper I – Written Test – 100 marks (The minimum qualifying marks will be 35% in each paper individually (30% for SC/ST/SEBC/PwD/Sportsperson/Ex-Servicemen Candidates))
- Paper II – Comprise of questions from the concerned subjects – 100 marks
- Skill Test – Only for Tribal Language Teacher – 50 marks (The minimum qualifying marks will be 20 marks)
